Millions of people—you and I—leave invisible tracks every moment of every day that can be used to get a picture of where we go, what we do, what we prefer, and who we’re affiliated with. In short, they reveal who we are. It is increasingly important to be aware of these tracks as governments and malicious actors around the globe take technologies that were once seen as liberating and turn them into tools of surveillance and oppression. Breadcrumb is an attempt to draw attention to the shift by making visible the previously invisible tracks we leave behind.
